Lessons from Little House

>> Wednesday, August 3, 2011

I just finished reading the Little House on the Prairie Series. I was struck by the faith and serenity of "Ma" Ingalls. The following is a quote from Little Town on the Prairie: Ma's words as recalled by her daughter Laura years later.

"This earthly life is a battle," said Ma. "If it isn't one thing to contend with, it's another. It always has been so, and it always will be.The sooner you make up your mind to that, the better off you are, and the more thankful for your pleasures."

I have always loved the Little House books. I am so excited to start reading them with Bella. We now read the Jr sized ones and actually just did a "Laura" camp day with some little gal friends. Great post Sarah!
