Rug hooking -- first completed project

>> Monday, March 23, 2009

I really had no idea what I was doing when I made this for my sister last summer. I started with fabric strips, a rug hook, and some burlap. When I was finished with my pattern, I used an iron on backing to keep the fabric strips from pulling out. I guess it didn't hold up very well because my sister has a new one already! LOL!

It was nice and soft and squishy under your toes. I just couldn't figure out how to keep the fabric strips from coming loose....

Live and learn.

There is a lady at my church who does hooking with fabric strips. If I decide to try it again, I will pick her brain about the finishing.
